    I've been using Betterbird. It's mostly better than Thunderbird, but it still tends to choke on extremely high volume email accounts, causing the client to freeze for a period of time while it does database cleanup.

    That tends to be a major issue when you have an older email account with 15+ years of email and over 22,000 messages, on any client really.

    I did! It was 22,000 *after* I cleaned out several thousand messages.

    I'm on a high-volume private mailing list; I'd move older stuff to cold storage but there's not a lot of great tools to manage that sort of thing.
